Interest rates and god's commands

Postby Deplorable » Sun Dec 17, 2017 9:27 am

I recently spotted an ad in a muslim restaurant for a turkish-run bank making open publicity for a bank credit.
The bank ad explicitly displayed both a credit for a real estate AS WELL AS FOR ARBITRARY PRIVATE CONSUMPTION!
Both usage examples stood just next to each other in equal letters and size, as if they were equally rightful in god's eyes and the eye of the public.
I have been a little shocked eversince. I got all red in my face. I was very agitated, so much so, I almost started off an HARAM-riot, but then remembered me not being a muslim (yet) and decided to first further lecture about it and consider consulation on bbad- the scripture experts.
Back in time, I also had been shocked when I learned that the Torah doesn't have a complete ban on interest rates and money lending, but instead having restrictions on this topic only towards Israelite.
I have been further deeply shocked when reading a parable of Jahshuah where interests on lended money had been portrayed by Jahshuah as a symbol for something positive! The audacity!

What is jewr take on interests?
Are You a hard-core opponent, too?
Don't muslims know they are inviting sheitan into their midths with things like that?
What do You think of islamic banking? IMHO it allows only for moderate, fix interest on real goods such as a house. But it seemingly still allows for money lending and interest.
Do You think Bitcoin is HARAM? Bitcoin is basically a ponzi scheme IMHO. It is not based on interest, in this regard it should be HALAL. However, Bitcoin may be considered as gambling the way it recently evolved. And, of course, it is speculation without physical goods that a community of believers deemed as acceptable backing it. In this regard, it could be HARAM.
And first and foremost: Is there a religious interpretation of god's word out there you know of that has a ZERO TOLERANCE towards the whole money-lending issue, just as jewrs jewly?
What is jewr opinion, bbaders?

What should be allowed within an ideal cum-cum-unity of believers? (NOT necessarily YOUR community, but an ideal one!)

I am not a hardcore opponent, and I'm not sure how our current economic system could work without interest, but I can tell you this: I am absolutely finished with debt. I hate debt. I had business debt for a decade and didn't sleep well for those entire 10 years. Now I have been totally debt free for 2 years and I love my life. If there's one bit of advice I would give to everyone on earth it's to avoid debt where possible.

It goes without saying that depending on what take people of a society chose on the topic of money, it will result in a completely different society. A society living according to Acts 2:44 will look different (and I don't say worse or better) than a society that uses islamic banking according to Sharia law and both will look different from modern day capitalism.
A society of Acts 2:44 will eventually impoverish and innovation might stop almost completely (see the Amish), but maybe live a more happy and sustainable life. It could evolve into a socialism style 1984 nightmare, too. Therefore I posted as a poll to just collect opinions on bbad's "free market of opinions"

The problem is, if you have a business idea and you want to grow it, you have no choice but to take on debt unless you happen to be rich. Right now, the only way for a young startup to try and shake up the world is to take on debt.
