Gunda wrote:Uli´s best friends decided shortly after the funeral to meet regularily once a month in remembrance of her - and it additionally also was meant as a way to deal with her loss. We are four people and despite we knew each other for more than a decade and even went on short city trips together, I only realized yesterday how much we have in common (which really isn´t that much a surprise, lol). We also talked about our child wishes and it was surprising to learn, that all three partners of them decided against a second child, while all the women wanted a second. One partner even demanded of his partner to have no own child at all, because he already had three kids with another woman. To me, that´s the most egoistic demand I can imagine someone can do in a partnership - to demand from their partner to just have one or even no child at all. I would understand it, if they have two or more kids already due to the high costs (which didn´t apply to any of those three). All of these partners are high professionally qualified and have a very good income and (relatively) secure jobs. It was also very interesting to learn, that at least some guys (and I can see that pattern even here on this platform) rather want to have a mother-replacement than a partner.

Maybe those "men" got themselves cut off "sumthang more" when they had their circumcision. Just guessing, I mean, why have a wife when You won't be having children with her, makes no sense to me.

I hate cemeteries and therefore I always hated Allerheiligen the most of all holy days, which is tomorrow. I prefer to remember my beloved ones while being at home and listening to some nice music while honouring them. That way only good feelings conjure up and the purpose is met as well - if not better.

Due to the weather forecast yesterday, I was hoping I can await the promised sun without clouds showing up, before climbing up to the cemetary on the Dreifaltigkeitsberg, to enlighten a little light for my best friend and representative also for all my beloved dead friends and family members. I am not driving down to my family as I usually did on that day. And if the sun in the meantime decided to show up, I will take seat on some of the benches at the ridge of the hill, to look down onto the town and over to the sunny, blue and colourful horizon, before the winter takes away all the colours from the trees. I maybe will then cycle along the ridge on the Winzerer Höhe trail, before heading down to have lunch at the Auer Bräu, the Spitalgarten or the Dicker Mann. Depending where I will find a seat. It´s a busy day for restaurants.

Gunda

That weather forecaster/weather forecast online site operator hopefully will go bancrupt. No sun at all but mist. Literally, with a big letter M. You couldn´t see even a single roof of Regensburg when standing on the ridge of that hill. Where is the mist when you need it. With that weather, Napoleon wouldn´t have been able to set Regensburg ablaze.

Anyway, I assume it´s not allowed to put up anything at that urn grave place Uli lies, as none of these graves got a mount for putting up some light. That´s why I let made a little floral wreath, for that I could place my candle into the empty space in the midst of the wreath, to give it at least a secure stand if some wind comes up. But I assume the cemetary workers will put it away today. I dislike her urn grave. Maybe I will link some pictures I made tonight or tomorrow.

Went to the Auer Bräu right after I visited Uli, as it was too chilly and too misty to make me enjoy cycling. The Schweinshaxn was ok and the best I had yet in Regensburg, but it couldn´t compete by far with that one I had at the Winkler Bräu in Velburg/Lengenfeld. And their own brewd beer tastes awesome. Beside having a brewery since 1428, and an old traditional as well as a modern restaurant, they also have a hotel. Huge complex - but their food is delicious and they offer good service. Till now, if someone asks me to recommend only one Bavarian restaurant - then it´s the Winkler Bräu in Velburg/Lengenfeld: http://hotel.winkler-braeu.de/genuss/gutshofstuben.html. Slowly I wonder if I extra should make a trip up there to try their Schweinshaxn again just to rule out that I just was lucky.

But I give Regensburgs other restaurants chances as well. Next will be the Dicker Mann.

Time after Time

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
And think of you
Caught up in circles
Confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcases of memories,
Time after

Sometimes you picture me
I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me, I can't hear
What you've said
Then you say, go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting
Time after time

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting
Time after time

After my picture fades and darkness has
Turned to gray
Watching through windows
You're wondering if I'm okay
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting
Time after time

You said go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting

Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after
Time

All the love for your birthday, Uli. You are greatly missed. But your best friends will celebrate this day for you tonight together in your favourite italian restaurant and I extra took a day off tomorrow and will end this day like Eric did on 1:23. Till soon!

One year. I can´t believe you left us physically already one year ago. I am sorry one of your cloverleaves won´t show up at your grave to visit your remains, but I am sure you appologize me, as I have a good reason and you know I will think of you today also when on the Autobahn. Miss you. Love you.

Das kann uns keiner nehmen

Alte Freunde wiedertreffen
Nach all' den Jahr'n
Wir hab'n alle viel erlebt
Und sind immer noch da

In der Kneipe an der Ecke
uns'rer ersten Bar
sieht es heute noch so aus
wie in den Neunzigern

Manche sind geblieben
Und jeden Abend hier
Meine erste Liebe
