What should be done with Cosby? His trial has started. The damage is done. I doubt he can do anything like he has done in the past. I think he is having trouble seeing. There could be some type of financial compensation, which is what it looks like has already happened to Bikram Choudury. I don't think the cases are exactly the same, however. They both did pretty much the same thing, but Bikram is a young 70 and still dangerous. I do not think Bill Cosby is dangerous. Bikram might not be either, since nobody will see him anymore. He always seemed crazy.

I am curious what people think should be done with Cosby. I bet I could guess what most would say. I think I know what I would say. Either nothing, or financial compensation. The rapes happened. They won't anymore. I don't want taxpayer money and a prison cell used on someone that is not dangerous. Bill Cosby is 79. I think the raping is done with.

Before anybody accuses me of not caring about the victims, I will reply to that here nicely so you don't have to waste your time. Jailing him will not take back the rapes and revenge/vengeance is not how I think jails should be used. They should be used if someone is dangerous. If you disagree, that's cool. Just don't complain about your taxes.

I agree entirely with everything you wrote. I even go further: I think there should be a 10 year statue of limitations on all crimes including murder. If a person has stayed clean for 10 years, the odds are they have changed and are no longer the person they were when they committed their crimes.

I also note that I totally support Cosby's legal team for suing one of the alleged victims for breach of contract. She took a payout for silence and then decided she was such a big victim she couldn't keep the agreement. Well, she needs to give the money back now, win or lose in the criminal trial.

If he's guilty it would be better to confess, repent and allow the courts to pass judgement and penalty on him. It would be better for him if his sins burn up going before him into judgement, rather than his sins follow him and he burn in his sins.

If he's guilty (and I think he is), my understanding of Christian teaching is that he need only confess/repent to God. He can lie to the civil magistrate, be found not guilty, and then repent sincerely to God and, as I understand Christian teaching, as long as he does things in that order, he can be saved by the grace of God and be admitted to Heaven without doing any time here on Earth.

Mistrial. That's fair, I think. Prosecutor says he'll retry it. Stupid. Cosby isn't going to be raping anyone else at his age.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
If it were a passing thought he could go to his closet, confess with a sincere heart and be forgiven. But this is no small issue. He's on trial for his life. Having said that, it appears he's going to let the court and his peers judge him.

Do you believe Jeffrey Dahmer (the homosexual cannibal murderer) is in heaven? It appears he sincerely repented of his sins before his death.

Dahmer gradually devoted himself to Christianity and became a born-again Christian. On his father's urging, he also read creationist books from the Institute for Creation Research. In May 1994, Dahmer was baptized by Roy Ratcliff, a minister in the Church Of Christ and a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, in the prison whirlpool. Following his baptism, Ratcliff visited Dahmer on a weekly basis up until November 1994. Dahmer and Ratcliff regularly discussed the prospect of death, and Dahmer questioned whether he was sinning against God by continuing to live. (Referring to his crimes in a 1994 interview with Stone Phillips on Dateline NBC, Dahmer had stated: "If a person doesn't think that there is a God to be accountable to, then what's the point of trying to modify your behavior to keep it within acceptable ranges? That's how I thought anyway.")

Stupid is your argumentation that his current age should find any consideration. Either you committed a crime or not. And only that as well as the circumstances should be considered for the punishment. Not the age a culprit has when the sentence get´s passed.

If he sincerely repented, yes. It's ok if he lies the magistrate. It's not the magistrate who judges the deep things of the heart or do you think God would not know if he lied in his heart?
I would also edit/add that either you suffer the consequences of your sin in this life or the next but you don't enter Heaven unless your sins have been atoned for by serving your sentence or being pardoned by Christ.
