I can't improve on my last post of this so I'm just copying it here. This song gets a lot of play in the Andes at Christmas time. I love it more than any Christmas song I've heard for decades.

Ok, this song needs a bit of explanation. In the 60s, a Spanish kid named Raphael (Miguel Rafael Martos Sánchez) recorded a version of Little Drummer Boy. It was a huge hit in the Spanish speaking world. He went on to do some other recordings but never did anything close to as popular as his version of El Tamborilero (Drummer Boy). Anyway, about 50 years later, he re-recorded it, looking and sounding as boyish as ever in his 60s, with his original version juxtaposed in the background. It's a beautiful contrast.

I just accidentally stumbled over this Christmas song, when actually surfing a tiny house made by bavarian architects. Didn´t fell in love with the house, but with this song and so I looked out for it and found, that it´s not an instrumental piece after all. I like both versions, the instrumental and the sung version. Still I prefer the instrumental version due to it´s peacefulness. It´s like walking with your dog. No noises except nature (if you are lucky). Apropos. Yesterday we were allowed to enjoy one of the most magnificent winter days which became so rare here: Thick snowfall and a frostened earth, which made the snow stay (at least for one night). Gracie and I walked along my favourite path along the Danube and beneath the most romantic old stock of trees, which form an avenue. And this music fully hits the moment when walking along, facing the snow and watching a dog, which clearly enjoys her life and couldn´t dig her nose enough into the white glory and roll into it´s powder. What a joy :) :) :)

I post one video I made as well as a few pics (most weren´t taken on that wonderful snow sunday yesterday, but they should give you a good impression why I love my town that much - when it´s calm and without many people out there - the Catholic Church may be blessed for doing something right finally for giving us at least one calmer day in the week  ).

Raphael. I think I posted one great Christmas song by him in the past, just can´t remember which one yet. Will check that out after work. This remake of him cerainly isn´t my cup of tea, but to each their own as long as it doesn´t harm anyone.

Nope, can´t find a (christmas) song by Raphael which I like. Must have been a different Spanish singer.

Before I am heading to Munich (oh graus), I am enjoying a blissful walk through town with Gracie all alone as most people are sill sleeping or at least at home - and this beautiful title music of the one and only filmed Aschenbrödel version. :)

Gunda
