DonatoDeodato by Deodato Featuring João Donato
The two giant Brazilian keyboard talents of the 70s came together to produce this funky and jazzy album, DonatoDeodato. I speak of Eumir Deodato and Joao Donato. The sound is electrifying, grooving, funky and rich. Sad that in later years, Deodato went the disco crap route. Anyway, that would be many years away from this album. DonatoDeodato was re-issued on CD - but only in Japan. This album is highly recommended. If you can find it.

Tom Scott And The L.A. Express
Tom Scott is one of the better fusion jazz players around town. With The L.A. Express, this album is a lot of fun, done with taste in the jazz spirit. Scott's music can be funky or romantic. Here it grooves. The original LP and the re-issued CD are both sought after by collectors. I am lucky to have both. Plus, you just have to love the cover.

Listening To: Free Ride by Dizzy Gillespie and Lalo Schifrin
A very nice funky, jazz album by Dizzy Gillespie and Lalo Schifrin. Schifrin composed the tunes and produced the album, Gillespie played on it. The result is quite interesting - nice wah-wah guitars, light pop jazz, congas. Not the best from Gillespie and Schifrin, but wonderful anyway. It is a good listen. Recommended.
